An expression of interest for Living Labs has been launched recently by the CORELABS and COMIST projects (see the home page).
My personal vision for the European Network of Living Labs in 2010 is the following:
Having a lot of networked local, regional and global (virtual or on-line) living labs all over the EU operating as integrated open co-creation labs or centres where all EU citizens could have a chance to express their creativity in contributing to societal, organisational and technological innovations according to their main motivations and interests.
Those EU Cocreation-Labs or centres (either at the loca,l regional or global level) should not be used by large enterprises only but also by SMEs as well as individuals. It is clear to me that providing access to Cocreation-Labs to individuals and especially students within the EU would enforce a strong culture of innovation and would facilitate the access to innovation to everyone in the EU willing to become an entrepreneur (as a kind of EU citizens' right). This kind of approach should boost considerably research and innovation within the EU and its competitiveness!
My personal contribution, as a convinced eProfessional, would be in the architecture and development of a global or on-line type of Cocreation-Lab (or Living-Lab) at the crossroad of intellectual capital, social capital, human capital and technological capital experimenting a brand new approach named "Knowledge Connection" (based on People-Concepts Networking) that could concern/involve any EU citizen over its working and learning life-cycle.
