LivingLabs

From AMI@Work Communities Wiki

In the knowledge economy we need to move to a perspective of the firm as a co-creator of knowledge that learns and creates value with its customers, business partners, communities and research institutions. This perspective of customers and partners as knowledge co-creators requires new multi-way relationships and the definition of new mechanisms and processes for these highly interactive innovation processes. The living labs are one of the answers: they represent the new and open innovation environment, where the co-creation process will be enabled and enhanced. It combines advanced infrastructure, methodologies, tools and communities to facilitate an interactive innovation process. While in a networked world co-creation will happen in many ways, the living labs provide an environment for systemic innovation in a real-life environment. They will include product innovation, services innovation, business process innvovation, business model innovation and policy and society innovation. Their capabilities will comprise advanced collaboration, prototyping, piloting, validation and testing. Given the rapid expansion of services and related business models, innovation in this field will be of high focus. By networking the living labs additional dynamics will be created for this new approach across Europe. It is about innovating the way innovation is happening !
