Here is below the place to describe the list of Resources and Services that could be shared among members of these transversal themes (access grant to be discussed case by case or project by project like in any Research Infrastructure). For each Living Lab, the list of resources and services should be described in the following way: the first entry should be the name of your Living Lab and the link to your website followed by your list of resources and services as presented below in a generic way. For example, resources could be specific infrastructures, technology platforms (testbeds), tools, methods and techniques. Services could be scientific services such as conducting an empirical study with your local user communities within your own cultural environment (these kind of services could be used by other regional Living Labs and SMEs in order to better address the Socieetal Challenges of our time and the global market):
A Living Lab workshop (Tuesday - Februray 7th, from 4 to 6 pm) will be organized to discuss abour viving lab and about the thematic transversal 3D theme within Imagina 2012 Event in Monaco (7-9 February 2012 - The European 3D simulation and Virtual Technology Event). 3D LIVE - 3D Living Interactions through Visual Environments
The 3D-LIVE project aims to develop and experiment a User Driven Mixed Reality and Immersive (Twilight) platform connected to
EXPERIMEDIA facilities in order to investigate the Future Internet (FI) broadband capacity to support Real-Time immersive
situations as well as evaluating both the Quality of Experience (QoE) and Quality of Services. The main objective consists to
explore 3D/Media technologies and IoT in real and virtual environments in order to sense and experiment live situations.
| 3D Living Innovation is a thematic, cross-border Living Lab located both in Virtual Worlds and in Real Life. 3D Living Innovation was created on the initiative of La Fabrique du Futur which is considered as the pionneer of the viving lab concept. [As AMI website states]: Viving Labs (Virtual Living Labs) were established in Second Life on 4 July 2008 when the Foundational Meeting took place at "La Fabrique du Futur".
3D Living Innovation living lab is is also a key partner in the SmartSystem’s ecosystem. 3D Living Innovation is focused on the use of 3D and 3D related resources: Virtual Worlds (metaverses), augmented reality, ambient intelligence, imagery technologies, etc.Its central theme is about 3D, immersive technologies, augmented reality and virtual worlds, in order to foster co-creation with the users. It is a set of 3D-related resources aimed at offering organisations the capability to interact directly with their markets to invent, to test and to evaluate future new products and services. This is a formidable system for freeing imagination, enhancing creativity, developing collaboration and reducing time to market while keeping costs as low as possible. Last but not least 3D is also a major tool for meeting sustainability preoccupations. As Bernard Charlès, CEO of Dassault Systems says : “There are no other limits to our dreams than our imagination. Our vision is the reflection of this: 3D opens the doors to the world we imagine.” 3D Living Innovation gathers many French actors of the 3D world and SmartSystem is now taking the initiative to gather other European living labs that are also actors in this field. |

One of the most well known research program on 3D arena is Intel Nokia Joint Innovation Center, Oulu. http://www.cie.fi/press.html and http://chirublog.org/ We also have realXtend, http://realxtend.wordpress.com/ development ongoing on the area. CIE is involved into it. Also 3D internet cluster in Oulu area includes several companies working with 3D development. Ludograft, Admino Technologies, Evocativi, Playsign and Cyberlightning to mention some of them. Cyberlightning.com is one newcomer to the business.
