[edit] Openness

The E-Learning thematic domain network is open to the organisations and individuals that are active in this domain. You are kindly invited to contribute to the editing of this wiki page in providing the necessary information about the resources and/or services you would like to share among the members of this Thematic Domain Network.

[edit] Scope

The living Labs thematic Domain network must be started from the policy mix with one Leading EU Policy responding to the Theme “E-Learning”. In this policy mix we have to define a proper vision and strategy as the competiveness, innovation and quality for Europe 2020 initiative. Gestural and/or perceptual know-how through Semiotic Web may be the future of the Web. For gestural know-how, this will be done on the Web with bi-directional augmented writings (with 3DTVHD), and not only by transmitting the cultural heritage through unidirectional e-writings (from experts to learners). The recipe in e-books is not enough, showing the knack to do something is where the added value is on the future annotated e-books. Then discussing interpretations between experts and novices is a qualitative approach that is exciting in order to find a consensus (is it possible?). For example in flamenco, the learning approach is to mimic the gesture of the professor in front of him. A lot of guitarists would love to reproduce the gesture of Paco de Lucia right hand! It is why we designed the @-muse project to learn piano or guitar music pieces by proposing multimedia annotations on tablets and a glose system (FIGS introduces à dialogue on the Web between a professor and a learner on technical difficulties).

[edit] challenges

For the RDI (Research, Development, Innovation) implementation program we could propose a number of Technology topics as:

  • Interoperability of information systems, to cope with the growing mobility of European citizens, both at the national and international levels.
  • Nonlinear, non-standard thinking
  • fostering creativity in learning processes
  • Gestural and Perceptual Know How

[edit] Objectives

  • To have a shared community for Living Labs that are interested (or focused) in the E-learning field
  • To devolp Tehmatic proposals in adequate European programs

[edit] Resources

Here is below the place to describe the list of Resources and Services that could be shared among members of the E-Learning Thematic Domain Network (access grant to be discussed case by case or project by project like in any Research Infrastructure). For each Living Lab, the list of resources and services should be described in the following way: the first entry should be the name of your Living Lab and the link to your website followed by your list of resources and services as presented below in a generic way. For example, resources could be specific infrastructures, technology platforms (testbeds), tools, methods and techniques. Services could be scientific services such as conducting an empirical study with your local user communities within your own cultural environment (these kind of services could be used by other regional Living Labs and SMEs in order to better address the EU market):
