Work Paradigms

Experts Group

The Expert Group on collaborative working environments set up jointly by the European Commission (EC) and European Space Agency (ESA) met for the first time in Brussels on May 4th 2004. Follow their activity and find their reports on the following pages. The Expert Group discussed on the vision of next generation Collaborative Working Environments (NGCWE), the characteristics of the "upper layer" collaboration at work middleware required for realizing this vision, and the RTD challenges that need to be tackled with at European level to achieve the objectives defined.

Advisory Group

The interdependencies between research and policy elements in areas such as new working environments are such that they require ongoing tracking of developments and aligning strategies accordingly. The proposed Advisory Group is primarily there to review and provide advice on the changing research and policy landscape affecting new working environments, and to provide input with respect to the scientific and technical design elements of work on New Working Environments, as enshrined in IST Work Programme(s) and in our Mission Statement. Members of the Advisory Group are in a unique position to support the activities of members of our research unit on New Working Environments.

Ambient Intelligence@Work Family and its Communities

The AMI@Work family of communities links people in 25 EU Member States, and beyond. The family catalyses innovation, creativity and inclusion for empowering, person-centric new working environments.
The AMI@Work family facilitates 'dream teams' in cross-fertilising Communities of Creation to set Ambient Intelligence at Work for the Lisbon strategy.

A 5-Year assessment is explicitly required by article 6 of the Decisions on the Sixth Framework Porgrammes."
